Fonts
|
Fonts can create a large portion of printing headaches.
Windows loads a standard set of fonts which are
essentially the same in all PC systems. After that,
every computer has its own special set of fonts
loaded on it through the installation of software
packages unique to each machine.
Although SBC has thousands of fonts in its library
and may already have yours, you should always be
sure to send any fonts you use with your file. Some
programs will also allow you to convert text to
curves, thus eliminating the need for specific fonts.
Missing fonts can cause incorrect font substitutions
by the application program.

Images and Graphics
|
|
For best
results, scanned images should be saved in tiff or
eps format. Don't overdo the resolution by thinking
more is better. A file with a resolution of 300 dpi
placed in the document at 100% of it's size will produce
excellent results.

6.
Provide us with a hard copy of the file:
|
|
This helps us know
what the finished product should look like. When possible,
the proofs should be at 100% of finished size. HOW:
Bring it with you when you drop off the disk; or if
you send the file to us electronically, fax us a copy
at (519) 273-6197.
|
|
|
File size can be
greatly reduced by compressing your files into one
convenient file for sending or upload. Click
here or in the e-print
sub-menu to find out more about compression settings
and software.

Other Tips:
|
Leave at least
1/4" margin around all sides. PDF file format
is the best way to ensure that your margins, scanned
images, fonts, and graphics remain intact. Postscript
files greatly improve your chances of a correctly
printed job. Click
here to view our submit file checklist.
